Reviews will be piling in.

The last time I posted a review was back in the beginning of June. It’s not that I haven’t been out to see live performances. It’s just that I somehow got out of the habit of writing up what I saw. There was some minor surgery (nothing serious – just my gall bladder – in and out of the hospital the same day) and my computer died and I had to wait for it to be repaired. So I started to fall behind and the more I fell behind the harder it got to get back to writing. The first day of summer passed. Then the first day of fall. I was in a deep hole and how was I going to get out?

My OCD wanted me to start with June and continue forward. This summer there were some very exciting shows (Paul McCartney!) but none of the fun free shows that I usually see at Central Park Summerstage or Celebrate Brooklyn! at Prospect Park. This summer the only good shows at those locations were fundraisers and I couldn’t afford to go. And now that it’s the beginning of fall and that means Fall for Dance and the New Yorker Festival, which always means a lot of performances and interviews in a very short period of time and a lot to write up.

So I decided I’m going to start with the first three Fall for Dance programs that I’ve already seen. And this week is more Fall for Dance plus the New York Festival this weekend. And in-between or next week I will write up all the shows since June that I haven’t written up. Hopefully I’ll be caught up by my birthday weekend near the end of the month when I’ll get to see two Lucero shows.

It’s going to be a lot writing and I know it’ll be worth it for me because I’ll get to relive some great performances. I hope it’s worth it for you.
